Time is Tricksey
You may recall that Gollum called Bilbo Baggins "tricksey" for winning the riddle contest by cheating. This book was inspired by the non-linear and seemly capricious nature of time. My relationship to time has always been a bit iffy - I tend to show up for things either disgracefully late or ridiculously early, but seldom on time. Time flies by, then drags it's feet. I never know what it will be doing on a given day. As a shaman, I know that it is possible to "bend time" and I have tried it with somewhat alarming results. For the time being, I'll just settle for being time's pawn.
Steam punk seemed like the perfect style for a tale of time woes and anachronistic musings, so for this piece I immersed myself in the look and feel of steam punk (which I love!).
