The Little Mermaid
Disney really scrambled the story on this one! In the original Hans Christian Anderson tale is really sad. The little mermaid sacrifices her voice to win legs so she can go live with the prince she has fallen in love with. Since she can't talk, she is not able to express her love for him and he falls in love with someone else. The day that the prince marries the other girl, the little mermaid evaporates like sea foam and becomes a creature of the air.
