Moral Highground This a two plate print. The first plate is rust red and is a solar plate intaglio. The second plate is the black plate and it is a relief print, which leaves a rich embossed texture. Historically, as Americans, we have tended to be very self-righteous about governance ought to be conducted and how wars should be fought and how prisoners of war should be treated. The Geneva Convention was the gospel and as a people we reacted with outrage at any country that mistreated their political prisoners. Enter the Bush Administration and Guantanamo and Abu Graib and our moral highground is a sad parody. In this image, the judges from the Nuremburg trials sit in silent, ghostly judgement behind the silhouetted figure of a torture victim at Abu Graib Prison. Prints from this edition of 20 are available for purchase either framed ($350) or unframed ($250). The print is 8"x16" on Stonehenge paper
